A calendar that is always right: about every room, every night and every rate.
The calendar is where you will spend most of your time in HANS. So it behaves like a tool, not like a form: what you can see, you can grab, and what you change applies everywhere at once.
Bookings move with the mouse.
Extending a stay means grabbing its right edge and pulling. A new booking starts by dragging across the free nights. Moving a guest to another room is a drag up or down.
Only the edge you grabbed moves. Extend the departure, and the arrival stays where it was.
Rates sit in the calendar.
Click a day to change that day's rate. Drag across a period to change it for the period. You don't have to switch to the rate plans and back again.
What you change here goes into the rate plan that covers the period, with no exception created beside it. The rule stays a rule, and next year you aren't working around a pile of forgotten one-offs.
One change, valid everywhere.
Block a room in the calendar and the Channel Engine blocks it on every connected portal. The booking widget on your website knows about the new gap in the same second.
What the calendar shows is what the portals show. That is where double bookings otherwise come from: two records drifting apart.
Down to the individual unit.
Rooms unfold until every unit stands on its own. You no longer read “three of five double rooms occupied”, but which three.
Assignment happens when you want it to: a booking may sit on the room category first and get its unit later. The portal counts the category, reception works with the unit. Both fit together without you maintaining anything twice.
Overbooking warns you first.
HANS keeps count of how many units are taken each night. If it gets tight, the warning is in the calendar and in the daily check, before you go home.
Common questions.
- Can I edit bookings without a mouse?
- Yes. Every booking has a detail sheet with the same fields: dates, room, rate, guest. Dragging is the fast way, not the only one.
- What happens with a booking from a portal?
- It appears in the calendar without anyone retyping it. The Channel Engine picks it up and blocks those nights on every other portal in the same move.
- Can I see what a period earns?
- Yes. The calendar shows nightly rates next to the occupancy, and the reports turn them into occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.
