Any device becomes a terminal.
A tablet at reception takes over what is otherwise typed twice.
At check-in the guest writes their details on a slip, someone types them in, and at registration time something turns out to be missing. Terminal mode cuts that path short: the guest enters their own details, and what they enter is in the system correctly straight away.
No new device needed.
HANS runs in the browser. An existing tablet, a phone or the computer at reception will do. Terminal mode is set up in minutes.
The device signs in once through a single-use link or a QR code, not with a user account. A device in the guest area therefore never carries a staff member's credentials around with it.
The guest fills in the card.
Person, home address, identity document: in four steps, in their language, with a confirmation at the end. All of it lands directly in HANS.
That means the data later sent to the registration portal is already right at entry: checked fields instead of deciphered handwriting. If you like, send the card ahead by link. Then check-in is a handshake.
The bill at check-out.
The same device shows the bill with every line (nights, extras, bar and restaurant, tourist tax), and the guest sees what they are paying for.
The amount always comes from the bill in HANS and is never typed on the device. What the guest sees is what the system holds.
Paying with their own phone.
The guest picks a tip and scans the QR code: card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. It is posted in HANS, without a till system and without extra hardware.
Anyone who prefers to pay by card at the desk still does. The receipt arrives by email either way.
Secured with a PIN.
Terminal mode shows only what the guest may see and is secured with a PIN against jumping back into the dashboard. A device in the guest area stays a guest device.
Common questions.
- Do I need a particular tablet for this?
- No, any device with a current browser will do – an iPad, an Android tablet or a computer with a touchscreen. Many properties use a device they already have.
- What if a guest doesn't want to do it themselves?
- Then reception enters the details as before, in the same form. Terminal mode is an offer to the guest, not a condition.
- Can the guest see other bookings on the device?
- No. The terminal shows exactly the case it was opened for: their own registration card or their own bill. The rest of HANS cannot be reached from there.
